Type of Hallucinations
MENTAL STATE
Vivid visual illusions and distortions (usually without marked autonomic features) suggests LSD, mescaline or hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Withdrawal states and drugs leading to serotonergic or anticholinergic syndromes usually show marked confusion with misinterpretation of a wide range of stimuli, however complex hallucinations are uncommon.
Schizotypal auditory hallucinations are most common with amphetamines (often with prominent paranoia) and dopamine agonists.
