Vivid visual illusions and distortions (usually without marked autonomic features) suggests LSD, mescaline or hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Withdrawal states and drugs leading to [[:wikitox:serotonin_toxicity_detailed_article|serotonergic]] or [[:wikitox:3.2.1.3_toxidromes|anticholinergic]] syndromes usually show marked confusion with misinterpretation of a wide range of stimuli, however complex hallucinations are uncommon.

Schizotypal auditory hallucinations are most common with amphetamines (often with prominent paranoia) and dopamine agonists.
